Boston Terrier Personality and Temperament
Boston Terriers have quite the unique personality that sets them distinctly apart from the other terriers. Some breeders believe a large part of it is due to the easy and relaxed bulldog genes residing within them. A Boston Terrier wouldn’t be as excitable as any other terrier breeds. On the contrary, they are well-mannered and very gentleman-like in nature.
Boston Terriers are enthusiastic without being overly active. They are intelligent and alert. Their ears are sensitive to the commands of their owners. Training is easy when it comes to these terriers because they love to learn. Their innate intelligence ensures your training sessions will be short and easy.
These dogs will need a strong, confident pack leader that can display authority as well as gentleness. It is the nature of the canine to look up to a strong leader. If the Boston Terrier finds no such human, he or she will then take it upon themselves to become the pack leader. Some owners say their Boston Terriers are excellent watchdogs that bark when necessary. Others say their Boston Terrier never barks at all even when there’s someone at the door.
